Girls' participation per 1,000 girls aged 14-17 in the 24 law states rose from 370.1 in 2018-19, the last survey before the laws, to 401.8 in 2025-26. In the 22 no-law jurisdictions it went from 453.4 to 452.7. Boys in law states rose from 512.2 to 527.7 and in no-law states from 543.3 to 542.8. Both groups dipped in 2021-22, the first survey after the pandemic gap. Law states started lower and remain lower than no-law states.
